We are a fully accredited Customs 77G and 1.1 Quarantine approved premises with capability to provide all associated services including tailgate, fumigation, and freight inspections.

Thomas Symons arrived in South Australia in 1875 from Cornwall and started a small blacksmith shop in Rosewater, near Port Adelaide.
It was just after the Victorian gold rushes and South Australia had proclaimed itself the granary of the nation, so there was plenty of work supporting the flourishing agricultural export industry.
The business expanded and in 1916 Thomas and his son George, launched Thomas Symons and Sons Carriers, transporting grain, timber and flour. Another son Jack joined the business and on Thomas’s death he renamed it JT Symons Carriers and moved to Lipson Street, in the heart of Port Adelaide’s bustling wharf district.
Jack, and later his daughter Jan, ran the business until November 1, 1981 when Alby Clark purchased and renamed it Symons & Clark Transport Pty Ltd.
From a staff of seven drivers, one secretary and a timber yard supervisor, Symons & Clark has grown to 100+ staff and a fleet of over 60 trucks which predominantly service the South Australian market, but have an established national network of providers to cater for their clients Australia-wide logistics requirements.
It outgrew its Lipson Street address in 1992 and shifted to Francis Street, Port Adelaide where it now has a 28 acre depot conveniently located near South Australia’s major shipping and intermodal hubs and close to Adelaide Airport.
Alby’s sons Ricky and David and grandson Jason now manage a diverse business which handles transport of all kinds, specialist heavy haulage and over-dimensional transport for the mining and construction industry, right through to a complete customs and quarantine approved container park, container packing/unpacking and warehousing services, transport and secure storage services.
The Clark family is proud of its history and the tradition of people-based problem solving and customised logistic solutions. This determined and persistent growth over the last 140 years, is being celebrated in 2015 with a new name Symons Clark Logistics.
Symons Clark Logistics is an accredited 77G facility for the Department of Immigration and Border Protection; its depot code is V010N.
It is also a class 1.1 ‘Approved Arrangement’ by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources; its depot code is S1803, and its premises has been licensed for the handling of prescribed export goods; our depot code is 4059.
In addition Symons Clark is an accredited company under the NHVAS (National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme) for all modules; Basic Fatigue (BFM), Mass and Maintenance Management.
Our drivers are all Flinders Ports and MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Cards) holders after undergoing the required police clearances, pre-employment medicals, and full functional assessments.
All drivers have undertaken non-mandatory accreditation in hazardous goods handling and load restraint.
